What is Island ECC?
Island ECC is an English-speaking international church seeking to have maximum impact in Hong Kong through the life changing message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We have no denominational ties, and are committed to maintaining doctrinal purity, while being culturally relevant.
We strongly believe that God’s Word is not just an historical document, but a living and practical tool that is beneficial to our daily lives. We seek each week to provide interesting study of the Bible, with insight that will readily make a difference in how you live.
We are evangelical. Most people don’t really know what that means, but let’s just say it means that we strongly believe that the message of Jesus Christ is the greatest news anyone could ever know. It’s essential that someone trusts in Jesus to not only have eternal life, but abundant life on earth. We believe this message is urgent, and we seek to continually proclaim it, both in word and our lives, to a world in need.
We are English-speaking. Our target audience are people who know English. It may be their second language, or third. They may speak with a strange accent, or be intimidated to speak at all. It doesn’t matter. If someone understands English, we want to minister to them. This of course, doesn’t mean that we don’t do Cantonese ministry. In fact, we have several ministry teams that focus on people speaking Cantonese, Tagalog, or Indonesian. But for now, we have made our primary focus the English-speaking masses in Hong Kong.
We are a lot of other things as well. Creative. Mission-minded. Passionate. Energetic. Compassionate. Family-friendly….just to name a few.
